All boys in the 5th grade or 11 years old may join theTroop. Webelos can begin attending meetings mid-winter. Contact the Scoutmaster for more information.

Dear New Scouts,

Welcome to Troop 652. Our troop provides many adventures and stories to tell your friends. We go camping frequently, and we have three major trips each year. The first trip is white water rafting on the Youghiogheny (ya-GI-ga-ny) river which has sections for beginners, intermediate, and expert rafters. Our next annual trip is our ski trip to Timberline, a mountain with the benefits of slopes of all level. Our third annual events are our two Camporees (fall and spring). A camporee is a weekend campout designed to help you advance in rank, earn merit badges, and have fun. One of the best trips of the year is our summer trip to Camp Rodney for one week. Rodney offers many merit badges including sailing and shotgun, rifle shooting, and archery.

We are a very active troop, and there is generally an activity every other weekend. Every year our troop has been granted a quality unit award for having 60% of our troop advance in rank. We have about 60 active troop members, 10 scout leaders, and 10 adult leaders. Our troop has a Junior Leadership Training each year where our leaders are trained to be the best and most fun that they can be. Our troops fiftieth anniversary is coming up in about two years.
